Art-By-Mike MySpace Page

Tue Apr 4, 2006, 12:01 PM
I created a second MySpace.com page in an effort to promote my artistic skills (and get paid for them in the process). So if you'd like to check it out please go to: [link]

If you or someone you know needs a logo, design, brochure, banner, tattoo design, business card, icon, avatar, or anything else Graphic Design related then please check my site out.

And, as always, the following links will take you to my online store and eCard site--with the latter I get 1 cent for every eCard that is sent, so please send as many as you can to your friends/family/whomever! Thanks for your support!

Come visit my store on CafePress!

Also, I recently created another CafePress.com store, only this one is under a different name and theme. The name is Paranormal Pete and he's basically this guy who travels the world in search of photographic evidence of the paranormal (be it Bigfoot, aliens, ghosts, whatever) I play the part of "Pete" and the "photographic evidence" you'll see on the site is done with Photoshop.

Now, a lot of people may look down on this (me faking photos), but the main reason I chose this way of advertising is because of two things: the wonderful film THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT and the recent rash of leprechaun sightings in Mobile, Alabama.

Regarding THE BLAIR WITCH, it was shear brilliance on the filmmakers' parts to sell the movie as real by first building up the legend of the Blair Witch through first the website and the mockumentry CURSE OF THE BLAIR WITCH, which aired on the SciFi Channel about a week before the movie opened. Both of these mediums reported the events that happened in the film as real, and this is part of the reason why the film became such a huge success.

As for the leprechaun of Mobile...well, who knows what that's all about. But right away people wanted to cash in on the craze by selling T-shirts of the "witness sketch" of the little green guy. (It's funny b/c when I lived in SC we had reports of a lizard man that supposedly attacked this teenager, and once the news got out everyone and their grandmother had a story to tell. And--suprise, surprise--that's when people started making T-shirts and bumber stickers of the "creature".)

And so, I am simply doing the same. The fake stories that accompany the fake photos are simple tools used to sell my products. In no way are they supposed to encourage or discourage others who may or may not believe in the paranormal. I am not indorsing this phenomanon; I am simply providing entertainment (hence the reason why I am selling them under the catagory of "Fantasy/Science Fiction".)

I appologize to anyone who becomes offended or disenchanted by my photos. You have been warned.

So go to Paranormal Pete's Place for all of your [fake] paranormal needs.

I work for this company in Ontario. I do their advertisement for their product. It's sold in stores like Target, Walmart, Staples...places like that. It's office furniture and some home furniture now. I officially hate chairs! lol. :giggle: I do digital painting for fun (which is what some of my gallery has). Do you talk to anyone else from school??

Hi there. This is James Gilks (owner of SerialKillerCalendar.com). We are looking for a few new artists to join our dark art team. Specifically, we are looking for someone who can create small two to four page comics for our new Serial Killer Monthly Magazine (coming out in a month or two). I love your art and was wondering if you would be interested in taking on this project. we are a small but world famous company that is always in the news so this would be great publicity for your work. At the moment, we can not pay for art submissions but we can offer you tons of free merchandise and, of course, the publicity/promotions that come from being in our merchandise. Our other artists have been able to work full time on commission work from the fame we have brought them. We plan on having many artists working on the magazine. What we are looking for are short two page comic book style bios of famous serial killers. We could provide the text. We simply need images to go with them (either in color or in black and white). If you are interested, simply pick out a killer you may want to make a comic for, we will send you the bio text and any images are up to your creative freedom. Any style, any look. we like to give our artists a lot of room to experiment and come up with their best work. This project is going to very, very impressive. And this magazine will be an instant collectors item and the art in it is sure to be seen by a lot of people for years to come. I really hope you are interested in giving this a try. You can contact me via email at madhatterdesign@gmail.com. I hope to hear from you soon. Please let me know if you need any further information.
